New service provides comprehensive framework for migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud
Logicworks, an AWS Partner Network (APN) Premier Consulting Partner and Managed Service Partner, announced today the launch of its Cloud Migration Service, a three-part consultation that helps new and existing customers accelerate success with AWS. The service provides enterprise IT teams with a well-tested framework for cloud migration that includes an assessment and discovery phase, a detailed technical and operational plan for AWS, and the build-out of foundational AWS resources designed for security, availability, and agility.
The service will benefit IT leaders that want to adopt AWS for the first time or migrate a greater number of mission-critical applications to AWS, but need operational and technical support to understand organizational roadblocks, address compliance and security needs, or implement a DevOps-based, software-driven approach to cloud management. According to the Roadblocks to Cloud Success Report, 44 percent of IT decision makers believe their organization is not fully prepared to face cloud management challenges over the next five years. The Cloud Migration Service will help management close the IT knowledge gap and design an informed cloud strategy that takes advantage of the latest DevOps tools and practices.
“Enterprise cloud migration is one of the top requests we get from AWS customers across the globe,” said Terry Wise, Vice President of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “As an APN Premier Consulting Partner with the Migration Competency, Logicworks is in a strong position to help companies accelerate the move to the cloud while maximizing the full potential of AWS to transform their business.”
Discovery
In the first portion of the service, AWS Certified Solutions Architects conduct in-depth discovery sessions with client engineering and business teams to review customer business goals and understand key KPIs, compliance requirements, and software development goals. This discovery session informs the cloud assessment and final recommendations, ensuring that cloud plans align with business and product development processes.
Technical Assessment
If the company has existing AWS resources, the Logicworks team then leads its extensive, 89-point assessment of the company’s AWS environment to evaluate security and auditability, cost and operations, and availability and performance. If the company is new to AWS, then Logicworks will assess the existing on-premises environment and colocation infrastructure for migration and develop a plan for establishing application priorities, evaluating costs, and evolving to an infrastructure-as-code model.
Reporting and Foundation Build-Out
The customer then receives a detailed report that includes a comprehensive overview of the environment assessment findings and recommended next steps based on the goals set during the discovery session. Logicworks’ Sr. Engineering Team can also build a custom, foundational AWS environment using cloud DevOps best practices, including a secure VPC model codified in templates (AWS CloudFormation), a central services area tied to a configuration management engine, and access to our proprietary automation scripts for building and managing AWS resources. This comprehensive analysis and build service gives IT teams access to the knowledge and internal resources gained over the course of hundreds of successful AWS projects, significantly accelerating cloud operations maturity and DevOps transformation efforts.
“We are seeing increasing demand from enterprises that want to migrate to AWS, but are either unsure about how to achieve their specific goals or want assistance in operationalizing full-scale deployments,” said Jason McKay, SVP and CTO, Logicworks. “Logicworks can help enterprises go from limited AWS usage to mature, DevOps-enabled cloud environments — a process that usually takes enterprises years — by supplying them with the talent, proprietary automation framework, and foundational AWS environment to accelerate IT transformation.”
The Cloud Migration Service is available for existing and new AWS customers today for a one-time engagement fee. For more information on the service and user pricing options, please contact Logicworks.
